The 'Well Trust: "Shocked and Saddened"The Motherwell Supporters Trust are shocked and saddened at the news of the death of Club Captain Phil O'Donnell today after the Dundee United game.
He was a Lanarkshire boy who earned a Cup Winner's medal for Motherwell. He grew to become the captain, a model professional and a great ambassador for the club.He was warmly welcomed back to the Club after stints with Celtic and Sheffield Wednesday and showed that he still had the same appetite for the game as he had when he first started out at Motherwell a short 17 years ago.
Our thoughts at this sad and tragic time to go out to his family and friends as well as everyone at Motherwell Football Club.The Trust will consider the best way to mark his passing.
